Car, LGV, PCV - Provisional Driving Licences.

If you don't already have a qualifying licence you need to apply for a provisional licence. To be eligible you must be a UK resident and meet the minimum age requirement of 17 years. You will also need your birth certificate, a valid UK Passport or another form of identification and must be able to provide addresses of your residence over the past 3 years.

If you are looking to start your driving lessons once you turn 17, you may apply for your Provisional 3 months before your 17th birthday.

You can apply for your provisional driving licence by completing the DL1 application form that is available from main Post Office branches, Local Vehicle Licensing Offices or MOT centres. You will also need to enclose original documentation confirming your identity, a passport style colour photograph and the fee of £62.50.
